Following a teaching position as associate professor at the University College of Northern Trøndelag, he joined the University of Copenhagen in 2007. Since 2015 he is the leader of the Solid State Pharmaceutics Research group at the University of Copenhagen.
He was for responsible for the education of pharmacy students with regard to the production of solid dosage forms for a decade before handing the pin over in 2022.
He is a member of the editorial board of Pharmaceutical Development and Technology and Pharmaceutics.
Main Research interests
The focus of his research is the understanding of the influence of formulation & process parameters and molecular interactions on the performance of solid-state pharmaceuticals, with a special interest in amorphous systems.
Holger Grohganz is one of the scientists that brought the concept of co-amorphous systems into the light of the scientific community.
He has expertise in versatile areas such as the application of multivariate analysis and statistical design of experiments, manufacturing techniques such as freeze-drying and spray-drying and analytical techniques ranging from spectroscopic to thermal, mechanical and diffraction techniques.
