From 12 to 14 September 2019 the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf hosted the 13th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Solid State Research Cluster (PSSRC), a collaborative research network between eleven universities from ten different countries. Further information can be found at PSSRC.org. The main focus is the development of novel pharmaceutical dosage forms, process understanding, solubility enhancement and process analytical technologies. The meeting was organized by the Institute of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics.
More than 120 participants followed three plenary lectures given by renowned researchers and 68 short talks in parallel sessions presented by young scientists, most of them PhD students. After each talk and during the breaks there was sufficient time to discuss results and problems and make proposals for further collaboration. The best presentation award was devoted in equal measures to Anne Linnet Skelbæk-Pedersen (University of Copenhagen) and Dina Kottke (Heinrich Heine University). The meeting was completed by a welcome reception on the first day and a conference dinner in the Altstadt of Düsseldorf.
